You may have noticed a new face in the math department. If you haven’t had the opportunity to get to know Ms. Rabovsky yet, keep reading for a brief introduction to a new member of our Country Day family.
Ms. Rabovsky was drawn to Cincinnati Country Day because of the warm and welcoming community it boasts. As a student, she went to a small school as well, so she knows how comforting it feels to walk through the halls and recognize every face. Similarly, she found the school’s investment in its students – seeing kids from 18 months through graduation – to enhance its sense of community in a unique way. Ms. Rabovsky is eager to get to know as many Nighthawks as possible. Within her classroom, she is excited for the opportunity to learn about her students’ interests, hobbies, and personalities.
As a Geometry, Honors Geometry, and Trigonometry and Data Analysis teacher, Ms. Rabovsky likes to keep her classes interesting. Expect lots of interactive games and projects throughout the course. Through all this, she has high expectations for her students and wants them to stretch their minds. However, Ms. Rabovsky hopes students always feel comfortable asking questions. As a very patient and invested teacher, she will work with willing students to find ways to make the topics click. So, don’t be afraid to ask her for help!
Though now experiencing it from the teacher’s perspective, Ms. Rabovsky reflects fondly of her own high school experience. Playing tennis was a highlight and continues to be a favorite hobby of hers. She also participated in other extracurriculars, such as yearbook. This was a particularly interesting experience for Ms. Rabovsky because she identified as a “math person” and archive is quite creative. However, she remembers it as a wonderful opportunity to grow and explore new interests. Also showing her school spirit, Ms. Rabovsky remembers fully committing to spirit weeks in her senior year.
A loyal Cincinnatian, Ms. Rabovsky grew up in Mariemont and still lives there. She advocates for Cincinnati, saying it offers much more activity than outsiders give it credit for. With lots of family around and a 10-month-old baby of her own, she always has plenty to do. This summer, her and her family took many walks with their two dogs, spent time at the pool, and readied up for the Bengals’ season.
Whether you are taking one of her classes or not, be sure to introduce yourself to Ms. Rabovsky, especially since you know her a bit better now!
