Remember that random ugly concrete wall on the North Lawn? Well, its been taken over and turned into a work of art.
An initiative originally headed by student body president Patrick Wildman 14, the Senior Wall project has been underway since late September. The project was handed off to a select group of seniors nominated by artistic merit to design and paint the wall. The design was drafted by Sarah Mueller 14, a talented graphic design artist, and submitted for review. After getting the ‘okay’ from Mrs. Luebbers and Mr. Carr the team began work. Multiple weeks of priming, painting, and drawing later, and the wall was almost finished. It was time for the entire senior class to add their touch. The handprints and initials of each
Country Day senior were added, culminating in the birth of the first Senior Wall. I feel like we started an ongoing tradition that will last for years to come. Although my design will be painted over, our class will always be remembered as the ones who started this, Mueller explained.
The Senior Wall will be an exciting and creative tradition for years to come. Future
senior classes will be challenged to create their own unique design, and find creative ways to successfully brainstorm and execute that design.
The success of the Senior Wall is a testament to the boldness, tenacity, and creativity that defines the [senior] class. I am really happy with the outcome. Everyone should go check it out, Wildman suggested.
