Everyone Loves Pizza, a new club in the Upper School, provides club members a chance to eat and review pizza from local restaurants once a month. Once a semester, students will deliver pizza from the best-rated restaurant to children in local hospitals. Its all about reviewing pizza, serving our community, and having fun!
We have reviewed two restaurants thus far: Buca di Beppo and Mios. We critique pepperoni, cheese, and supreme pizza and our evaluations are based on the sauce, cheese, toppings, crust, and overall taste. The rankings range from an average of one to five stars, with one representing Poor, three Average,
and five Excellent. Here are the results:
Buca di Beppo:
Pepperoni Pizza = 4.7 stars
Cheese Pizza = 4.1 stars
Supreme Pizza = 4.1 stars
Overall Taste = 4.5 stars
Toppings = 4.1 stars
Sauce = 4.7 stars
Crust = 3. 6 stars
Mios Pizzeria:
Pepperoni Pizza = 4.1 stars
Cheese Pizza = 3.9 stars
Supreme Pizza = 4.3 stars
Overall Taste = 4.4 stars
Toppings = 4.2 stars
Sauce = 3.8 stars
Crust = 4.0 stars
The pizza at Buca di Beppo is currently rated the best – especially the pepperoni! The sauce and cheese are like no other. Chefs use the perfect amount of these ingredients. Plus, the sauce is made with seasoning which accounts for its delicious and mouth-watering taste. Ben Paff 16, a club member who reviewed pepperoni pizza, explained, The sauce tastes better than that served at other restaurants. I really like the pepperoni and the spices used which add to its unique flavor. Club members were also given a tour of the kitchen and observed chefs prepare the pizza, as well as several other Italian dishes. What is truly amazing is that you can eat at a table located in the kitchen! All you have to do is ask for it. Stop by at Buca di Beppo if you want some unique and delicious pizza!
Club members also reviewed pepperoni, cheese, and supreme pizza from Mios. The nice thing about Mios is that you can eat here or have its pizza delivered (Yes, that means Mios can deliver to Country Day). The crust and toppings were rated the best, and are Mios best qualities, according to sophomore club members Soham Basu, Darryn Jordan, and Katie Jamison. In the words of Douglas Barnet 16, Mios Pizzeria makes marvelous toppings! Nick Sam 16 states, There is a very nice texture to the pizza. The balance between the sauce and cheese makes all the difference. The crust is also good, but it is a bit crunchy unlike the crust made at Buca di Beppo. The pizza served at Mios looks very different because the sauce is placed not only under the cheese but also on top of the pepperoni. Its unusual but it still tastes very good. If you are throwing a party or if you want to
order pizza at school, then Mios is the restaurant for you!
