Looking for new places to hang out this summer? Here are some fun and exciting hangout spots that you can attend with your friends to enliven your summer. The best part is that you can go to all these places without even leaving Cincinnati!
For those really hot days, grab a towel, some flip flops, and sunscreen and head down to the Beach Waterpark or Kings Island. These typical, every year hangout spots are great places to go with either a group of friends or just by yourself. Even though standing in lines while waiting to get on a roller coaster or water ride isn’t exactly ideal, you will enjoy the cool water and the wind blowing through your hair when it is finally your turn to ride. Even if you haven’t been to either of these places in a while, you should give it a shot. You are bound to have a great time!
If the Beach Waterpark and Kings Island aren’t for you, then you should try the Underground or the River Bend Music Center to check out some concerts. As a smaller and more intimate concert venue, The Underground is a neat place to hang out. Some great bands come and play there: they are all about opening their doors to local bands as well. If you are looking for bigger concerts, a lot of people are going to be touring in Cincinnati during summer 2013. Look to see Kesha on June 8th, Brad Paisley, Chris Young, and Lee Brice on June 6th, and Toby Keith and Kip Moore on June 14th. You could even attend the Bunbury Music Festival which will be taking place from July 12th to the 14th.
For those days when you have nothing to do, grab a group of friends and go into a theater to see some of the newest releases. There are many cinemas to choose from including Milford, Newport, Mariemont, Kenwood and The Esquire. Attending the movies is always a great way to relax and spend time with your friends. There are a ton of new upcoming movies that you should check out: Despicable Me 2- Wednesday, July 3; Grown Ups 2- Friday, July 12; and Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters- Wednesday, August 7.
When all else fails, head to the mall and check out the newest trends. Kenwood and East Gate are great places to try out. The outlet malls also offer a great variety of stores and styles to experiment with. From flip flops and shorts to bikinis, here are some suggestions to keep on your list: Everything but Water, H&M, and Kohl’s.
This summer get out and enjoy the great weather and sunny days. Explore your area and enjoy the beauty of nature around you. Go to the park or the neighborhood pool and try some new activities. Have a great couple of months and make this a summer to remember!
