I hadn’t been much of a baker until I saw a picture of a Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup brownie show up on my Facebook newsfeed. Oozing with melted chocolate and peanut butter, this brownie looked like the epitome of culinary perfection. I had to have the recipe.
But instead of consulting a cookbook, I simply clicked on the picture, and was brought to a website that told me exactly how to make them. And I did. And they were delicious. Since then, I have spent hours surfing the web, looking for more websites and food blogs with similar recipes for tasty treats. Whether you are new to baking, an old pro, or just plain hungry, be sure to check out a few of my favorites:
1. Epicurious- http://www.epicurious.com
Not only does Epicurious have thousands of recipes for almost anything, but it also offers video tutorials for beginners in the kitchen. Most of the recipes are rated and have been reviewed by other users, which makes it easy to determine whether a recipe is worth making. You can also create an account, which allows you to save all of your favorite recipes to a recipe box.
2. Pinterest
You can find just about anything on Pinterest, especially recipes. The only drawback is that while you can see many pictures of delicious food, these pictures are not necessarily accompanied by recipes.
3. Sally’s Baking Addiction- http://sallysbakingaddiction.com
Sally focuses primarily on cookies and other desserts, especially those that involve the to-die-for combination of peanut butter and chocolate. My personal favorite recipe of Sally’s is for her Triple Chocolate Chip Cookies.
4. Brown Eyed Baker- http://www.browneyedbaker.com
The Brown Eyed Baker offers recipes for both savory and sweet foods. Recently, I made the “Baked Brownie” from this website, and my advisory promptly gobbled them up.
5. Betty Crocker Facebook Page
This is where I found the recipe for those Reese’s brownies. Be warned: liking this page will lead to pictures of tantalizingly tasty treats popping up in your Facebook newsfeed, severe mouth-watering, and a baking addiction.
