From belting out the National Anthem before sporting events to singing Happy Birthday to students in the dining terrace, Mr. Vondale Batchelor has been showing the Cincinnati Country Day School community the incredible power of his voice for years. Now, he is hoping to bring his talent to a larger stage. He will be auditioning for The Voice, an NBC reality singing competition, this weekend.
Mr. Batchelor said that he had his mother, wife, friends, and several CCDS students encourage him to try out for The Voice. “In one day, I had eight different people say the same thing: that I should try out.” After hearing so much encouragement, he went online and filled out an application to try out. On Saturday, January 19, he will have a 7 a.m. audition in Atlanta, Georgia. There, he will sing one song. If that audition goes well, he will have a call-back audition, where he will be asked to sing a modern hit a cappella. If he makes it through that audition, he will then be invited to audition in front of the judges of The Voice for a chance to be chosen for one of their teams.
Make sure to wish him luck for his audition this Saturday!
