As fall continues to move in, it becomes time to change out summer favorites for pieces more seasonally appropriate. This fall is the perfect time to branch out into some more fun, and even edgy, pieces. Fall fashion will see sandals getting exchanged for booties, neon shorts pushed aside for earthy-toned pants, and ever-popular crop tops switched out for leather jackets.
One of the staples of every fall outfit should be a practical and versatile jacket. Whether it is leather, canvas, or velvet, a jacket to throw over jeans and a t-shirt, or a cute daytime dress will easily be your most beloved piece this season. The best part about a good jacket is its ability to segue into almost any nighttime look. It can be made dressier with a cute pair of suede heels and a little black dress. A brown leather jacket is always a great investment, though almost any type of jacket will do the trick for completing your look this fall.
Word on the street is that colored pants in brown and orange hues will be in this season. If you’re struggling to find that perfect hue, just look to the changing leaves for inspiration. That being said, a sturdy but well-cut pair of dark-wash blue jeans can do no wrong, and can be combined easily with a chunky knit sweater for that long-awaited autumn look which exudes cuteness and comfort.
Accessories are also key to this a great fall look. Booties are big, whether flat, heeled, or wedged, they provide a practicality and spunk that is hard to resist. A lace-up pair can be cute, as can ones with a mixed-media material look. If booties aren’t for you, give men’s-wear-inspired loafers or oxfords a try. Scarves are also a cute fall classic that will become more and more practical as the days wear on and the weather grows cooler. One should not forget to toss on some chunky vintage-inspired jewelry as well, to keep an outfit interesting.
This fall is all about trying new things to create eclectic and exciting outfits.
