Some students have noticed changes in the dining terrace this year. The marinara sauce is sweeter, the macaroni and cheese is better, and there have been several unfamiliar soups on the menu. In addition to new recipes, there are also new faces; John Fox and Hannah Davis have been named the new directors of the SAGE program at CCDS.
John Fox previously worked at a military school in Pennsylvania, and has been with SAGE Dining Services for twenty years. Fox says he has been well accepted by the Country Day community, and believes that the CCDS SAGE crew to be the “best, most helpful crew” he’s worked with in his twenty years at SAGE. Hannah Davis is a veteran of the Cincinnati Country Day SAGE program.
Although Fox and Davis have adopted a “new flavor principle” with a better variety of recipes, students will recognize their favorite meals from previous years. John and Hannah want to focus on healthy meals this year, but they also want to provide a variety of new foods to try, like rabbit, buffalo, and Arabic food. Students can expect a variety of educational demos (ever wanted to learn how to make sushi?) and holiday-themed meals.
Chef Rob, the previous director of SAGE and beloved member of the jazz band, now tours the East Coast playing in three different bands. He also sells flare copters, which are “LED Slingshot Helicopters” that can be seen from up to a half mile away. Though Chef Rob is certainly missed by the CCDS community, Fox and Davis have started the year off strong as the new directors. With their experience and cooking expertise, they are bound to continue the SAGE tradition of serving delicious meals to the CCDS community.
