Ms. Tiffany Okel
One of the new faces spotted around school, Ms. Tiffany Okel, is an addition to the Tech department and Upper School Faculty. Although this is Ms. Okels first teaching job, she has had much experience as a leader. During the summers
she is a counselor at a wilderness adventure camp with activities including white water rafting, rock climbing, zip lines, and a ropes course. Ms. Okel graduated from Kent State University, and by trade she is an animator and artist. Computers are my hobby; they are also my job! Ms. Okel says. Throughout high school she played volleyball, but loves all sports, and was the stage manager for her school play. Last fall Ms. Okel went to Haiti for mission work. When asked what kind of food she likes she says the kind in front of me! Every time she goes to the grocery store, she leaves with a new basket of food. Anything but spicy food including restaurants like Red Lobster and Olive Garden, interestingly this Steelers fan does not like Skyline. Comparing Cincinnati to her hometown, Pittsburgh, Ms. Okel comes to the conclusion that both cities are very similar. On her experience so far with CCD, Ms. Okel loves our laptop program. She enjoys the refreshing and enjoyable community feel. As I was leaving she quickly added, Go Steelers!
Tablets Now Fixed On Campus
Starting this year CCD has opted to fix tablets on campus. The change is due to the closing down of the previously used company and CCDs switch to using two different models of computers, Toshiba and Fujitsu. Since there is no need to ship tablets out, students and faculty receive their machines faster than before and fewer loaners are needed. Although this is cost saving, major problems to the tablets will have a fee for repair. While it cut down on waiting time for students with loaners, the change does take time out of the tech departments schedule, especially Ms. Nancy Osborne and Ms. Tiffany Okel.
