To paraphrase Heidi Klum, the two most important fashion moments in a girls life are prom and her wedding. From the perfect dress to the oh so fabulous shoes fashion takes a hold of every girl on that special night.
This seasons dresses shy away from your average A-line satin number. Complex patterns with mixed ornaments make each dress unique and flattering. At Country Day’s prom on Saturday night, we saw many dresses that complimented figures across the deck. Togas, fitted dresses, ball gowns, and many more graced the waves of the Ohio River.
In my opinion Avery Maier 13 wore one of the best dresses on board. The simple crew neck design juxtaposed perfectly with the V-shaped back. The perfect length, color, and style made Avery look beautiful. Another winner was Jamie Huelskamp 11. Her floor length draped dress in burgundy was soft and flirty but the color still stood out making her look elegant and sophisticated.
Speaking of seniors with fantastic dresses, Gabby Richardson 11 pulled off one of the hardest looks with style and class. Her mermaid cut dress in a metallic burnt sienna stood out among the crowd and made her shine.
For some girls, matching the theme of the dance with the dress was seamless. Allison Mesh 13 and Madeline Elkin 14 both chose
flouncy sea foam green dresses. The color matched their bright red hair, giving them both a gorgeous Ariel princess look.
Whether you can tough out three and a half hours of six inch heels, or opt for flip flops (smart girls) it doesnt matter as long as you have your perfect dress. This spring’s prom brought out the styles sometimes feared by formal dress wearers and designers. However, every dress had something special and every girl looked beautiful.
