On Friday, February 11th the Country Day mens basketball team visited conference foe and rival CHCA. In a game that was much closer than the score indicated, the Indians came away with a 52-35 victory, spoiling CHCAs senior night. The Eagles and Indians both played an extremely physical brand of basketball, and stellar post play was crucial to the Indians success. Amidst chants of you cant stop him delivered by the Country Day Crazies student section, senior Ryan Galloway dominated the painted area with a double-double, dropping 11 points and hauling in 14 rebounds.
Fellow classmates Dan Angus and Robbie Pierce epitomized senior leadership, as the two carried most of the backcourt scoring load and were extremely clutch down the final stretch of the game. Angus produced his most quantitative output of the season with 17 points, including a perfect six for six from the free throw line, three assists, and six rebounds. Pierce added 11 points, nine of which came from long distance, and dished out six assists. In addition, sophomore Chance Alldred displayed his ball handling prowess while successfully facilitating the offense despite being guarded by the Eagles best defender. Alldred contributed 11 points and four assists to the winning
effort.
The Indians followed their triumph at CHCA with a 52-39 victory at home over New Richmond on
February 15th, and then fell to Clark Montesori 45-23 on the 18th. They begin postseason play on February 26th against Xenia Christian.
