Do you have an iPad and have no idea what games to buy in the iTunes App Store? Here are a few suggestions.
Angry Birds
This was the bestselling App of the Year on iTunes, and with good reason. Angry Birds is remarkably similar to the ever popular game Bloons (on www.addictinggames.com), so the user shoots myriad “angry birds” at some odd green creature that stole the birds’ eggs (that’s why they’re angry). There are hundreds, maybe
thousands of levels, so the play is endless. Beware, though: this game is insanely addicting. Oh, and make sure to play with your volume on; the noises the birds make are hilariously quirky.
Flight Control
This game is misleadingly simple: different types of airplanes and helicopters in varying colors slowly come onto the screen, and the user has to drag them to their corresponding landing strip (or area, as it may be). The game ends when any vehicles crash. It starts quite peacefully, but quickly becomes overwhelming as various forms of transportation crowd the screen, impatiently waiting to land in their designated area.
Rush Hour
If you are too lazy to assemble your actual Rush Hour set for each level and prefer to play with a flick of a finger, this app is for you. This classic game is still as stimulating as it is in its physical form, but the new version counts your moves, lets you undo them, and gives you hints, which are helpful.
However, the game makes you finish each level to continue, so getting past the easy levels can be a nuisance.
Osmos
This game is harder to explain, but the user essentially starts as a cell, and moves around to get bigger. It doesn’t sound very fun, but it is! Its ratings are high if you want a second source, the colors are beautiful and the game is as a whole very satisfying- although perhaps too serene for a user who wants more action-based play.
