In this day and age, there seems to be a new crisis, a new problem, in the center-west Asia region. While to people in our country, so far away from all these problems, it is just another news headline, to those countries, to those people, it is a daily struggle that is all too real to them. One country that you may see pop-up in the news every now and then is Afghanistan. We see all this news on our papers or on our devices, but we never think about the effects these events have on the citizens.
The current state of Afghanistan has led many to attempt and leave, and many countries from around the world accepts these people as refugees, knowing they are escaping death. Currently, there has been lots of new circling regarding the Afghani refugees, seeking shelter within Pakistan.
On November 1st, Pakistan commenced the forced displacement of the Afghani refugees, deporting 1.73 million undocumented refugees. This all being a catalyst to once again another humanitarian crisis within the region. Having access to shelter is an essential human right, the infringement of those rights by the Pakistani security personnel has left the Afghanis humiliated and with no place to stay.
There has not been much news circulating about the event since it had initially happened. Therefore, there aren’t many sources that would allow us to know what has happened to these refugees as of currently.
