It’s that wonderful time of year again: exam week. Exams can be overwhelming and it’s hard to study as we all try to keep it together until break. Here are a few tips to make your life a little easier during this stressful week.
- Start studying at least two weeks in advance, however,if you’ve already procrastinated skip to step two. You have to study for school’s regular quizzes and tests as well as exams. Time management is key. The way I study for my exams is I chose a subject that I study for a couple of days. I study the subject each day for half an hour. That way I can review a little bit of information at a time so that I’m not cramming everything in at the end. It also gives you a chance to meet with your teachers before everything gets crazy.
- Make outlines for all of your classes. I make outlines for all of my classes with notes about everything we have learned so far. I usually start making them at least two weeks in advance so that I have time to meet with my teachers to make sure that I did not forget something important. The outlines help because everything is organized, and you can easily study each topic.
- Meet with your teachers. If you are unsure or confused about a certain topic, the best thing to do is meet with your teachers. They are the best way for you to get the right information and any help that you need to master the concepts.
- Don’t stress too much. Exams may seem difficult, but they aren’t impossible to pass. If you take your time to understand the material, you need to know then you will be fine. Just enjoy the fact that after those four days you are free for the next two weeks.
