sharpen the rims of

your mason jars

and let me cut my

lips on them so

my eyes don’t

have to do all

the draining

untie the heap of

your shoelaces

for me to wind tight

around my calf so

my heart doesn’t

have to do all

the feeling

freeze my head and

numb my hands

open me up and

pull me out to

air

so I will pause.
