For those of you who don’t know, tech week occurs the week prior to opening night. It is the week when the technical aspects of a play are added for the first time. For all involved, it means late nights and a lot of work. Don’t get me wrong: it’s one of the best parts of putting on a play. But it’s also extremely exhausting! Throughout tech week for the Fall play, “All in the Timing,” I will be posting journal entries here on www.scrollonline.net, which will provide a glimpse of the inner workings of the production.
Monday Evening
Days Until Opening Night: 3
The first Tech Rehearsal went well. Mr. Glenn Lindahl, tech director, has most of the set together, and Mrs. Sandy Cantor, mother of Jules, ’11, and a parent assistant in the show, brought the rest of the props into rehearsal today. The show is really starting to come together. Right now the biggest issues are line memorization and the health of the cast. We had a couple of kids out sick today, but hopefully they’ll be back soon. Until then, the show must go on!
Huge thanks go out today to Mrs. Donna Fischer, the head of the dining services, for making dinner for the cast and crew today. This was incredibly helpful as time is scarce in tech week. Today, we ran until about 7, and the nights will just keep getting longer as we lead up to opening night.
We perform Thursday, October 22 and Friday, October 23 at 7, and Saturday, October 24 at both 1 and 7. Tickets can be purchased via credit card at www.seatyourself.biz/countryday, or at the door on the night of the play. We hope to see you all there.
