The Varsity and Junior Varsity girls’ soccer teams are in the midst of a successful and promising season. With a varsity record of 6-1 and a junior varsity record of 4-0, the soccer stars are a fierce force. A multitude of wins have already decorated theis season. The Varsity girls won 3-1 against CHCA, with goals by Olivia Brown ’17, Joely Virzi ‘20, and Lawson Renie ‘20. The team was victorious against Catholic Central High School, with a score of 2-1, Katie Ashwell ‘20 and Renie making the winning goals. Varsity conquered Badin with 1-0 and left North College Hill in the dust with a 6-1 win. The team came out on top over Seven Hills with a score of 6-0, Renie, Virzi, Ayanna Kemp ’18, and Jenna Eitel ’20 shining on the field.
The junior varsity team has also won big this season. They beat out Summit 3-0 and triumphed over Landmark Christian 9-1. The girls had a spectacular win 8-0 over Immaculate Conception Academy, with goals by Ashwell, Renie, Eitel, Virzi, Tori Keller ‘19, Lindsey Hoffman ‘19, and Lilly Reisenfeld ‘20. JV also had success over Clark Montessori with a final score of 6-2.
The girls’ soccer teams’ success is not only attributed to their amazing talent, but to their unbreakable bond. The team spirit and friendship is evident at all games and practices. The team also has great leadership from senior captains Robinson, Olivia Brown ’17, Deidre Mohan ’17, and Natalie Choo ’17 and is ultimately led by stellar coaching from Coach Theresa Hirschauer, Coach Brady Brandt, and Coach Brittany Patterson ’04.
As they continue throughout their season, the girls’ soccer teams expect to win big. Upcoming games include facing off against Preble Shawnee, away, on September 20th and Cincinnati Christian School, away, on September 22nd.
