Ms. Carrie Whelan, Country Days new Intervention Specialist, helps students struggling in classes or those who have learning challenges. While providing them with study skills and keeping them organized, she also aids them in an occasionally difficult situation: bridging the gap between teachers and students. Ms. Whelan talks to teachers with her students, so all three are on the same page.
Ms. Whelan has her degree as an intervention specialist. Her previous job was teaching 4th grade in Dayton. Now she works as an intervention specialist at both our school and St. Columban. However, at St. Columban, Ms. Whelan works with children grades first through eighth primarily having trouble with math. At Country Day, Ms. Whelan works with the Upper School students needing help with any subject. She is on campus during Mondays only, so make sure you see her when you can!
