The Country Day boys and girls swim team began their season two weeks ago with a win over New Richmond. Despite the team’s small size, the Indians dominated their opponents with a win in every event. The boys won the meet with 89 points to New Richmond’s 63, and the girls won with 87 points to New Richmond’s 65. The Indians look to keep this strong momentum going throughout the rest of their season. Coach Benson Spurling has high hopes for the team this year. He stated, “This year’s Boys and Girls swim teams are very balanced. The girls should repeat sending relays to the Ohio State Championship and the boys have a great chance to have relays get there as well.”
Last season the Indians finished on a high note with five swimmers competing in the Ohio High School State Swimming Championships. This year the Indians look to build on that number. The Indians next swim meet will be on December 20th against the Indian Hill Swim Team at CCDS at 5 PM. Please come out and support the team.
